What should I expect? I have not been to a Summit before.
This Summit featuring Google for Education is a two-day conference focusing on the use of technology to advance student learning, collaboration and productivity in the classroom. The Summit is designed for classroom teachers, school leadership and anyone interested in learning how technology can be used to enhance student engagement, teacher efficiency, and digital-age learning.
With fast-developing, generative Artifical Intelligence (AI) tools popping up everywhere, the Summit will offer sessions focusing on how you can make the most AI in education. Join our experienced featured speakers who are on hand to guide you through the process of using AI to improve your teaching and learning. Whether your are new to AI or have experience with it already, our AI sessions will help you have a better understanding of how and when to use this new and exciting tool.
This two-day event features a keynote presentation each morning. We are excited to feature a workshop lab filled with Chromebooks that attendees can use in sessions designed with the device in mind. The Summit will be full of informative breakouts, future-focused demonstrations, and hands-on workshops led by experienced and knowledgeable professional developers, current classroom teachers and employees of Google (aka Googlers).

How long are the sessions?
We like to allow about an hour for every workshop session to immerse ourselves in learning something new and getting hands on time to explore and experiment. We aim to run 4 blocks of sessions each day of the event.
As we get closer to the event you will receive confirmation about the timings and workshop sessions. You can also find timings and other information in the Schedule tab.
Do I have to select which sessions I am attending?
We do not track attendance for the workshops and there is no need to indicate which sessions you are attending. It helps if you have a plan before you arrive so you can reflect on which sessions are likely to be the most helpful for your learning and the community you support.
What devices or equipment do I need to bring?
We recommend you bring a fully charged laptop to get the most from the hands-on workshop sessions.
Can I use the Summit as professional development hours?
Yes, and closer to the event, we will share a form for you to fill out to receive a PD Certificate for five Professional development hours from content that will address relevant Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL).
Where can I get a certificate of attendance?
Certificates of Participation for the general conference will be available after the conference. Closer to the event, we will share a form for you to fill out to receive a PD Certificate for five Professional development hours from content that will address relevant Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL).
Do you have a letter or some information I can share with my leadership team?
Deploy Learning has prepared the following letter template for your use in generating support from your school or district leadership to attend our Summit. Please feel free to customise the letter to help “make the case” for your attendance.
Will the event materials and resources be made available after the event?
We ask our presenters to share their presentations and/or links to resources in their sessions and on the schedule.
Will lunch and refreshments be provided?
Yes, there is coffee and tea on arrival, plus morning tea and lunch provided.
We will work with caterers to provide options for a variety of dietary needs.
Can I get NESA Credit?
In New South Wales, educators can log the event as Elective PD with NESA under the following category: efforts to integrate ICT into teaching practice.
To qualify, Elective PD should: enhance teaching practice to effect positive change and impact on student or child learning progress and achievement; link to clear and relevant goals that are related to improving student/child outcomes; provide opportunities for collaboration, transference and application of learning into teaching practice; involve opportunities to give and receive feedback and/or undertake self-reflection and reflection on the teaching practice of others; be research-based and evidence based.
Will there be any opportunities to network and meet other attendees?
With a diverse audience, the workshops will help you work alongside other attendees. In addition, the breaks are excellent opportunities for connecting and networking with colleagues throughout the day.
What should I do if I need to cancel my registration?
