Keynote address

Educators face the urgent task of ensuring students become empowered creators rather than passive consumers of AI, which requires rejecting the false dichotomy between embracing technology and maintaining academic rigor. This means teaching foundational literacy skills—critical thinking, clear writing, and thoughtful evaluation—before students automate these processes, thus preparing them to be leaders who shape AI, not just use it.

Albert Park College
83 Danks St, Albert Park VIC 3206

Albert Park College is one of Melbourne’s most exciting secondary schools. The inner-Melbourne bayside community demands high standards of academic achievement, skill attainment, artistic creativity, sporting prowess and personal development for its children.

Their success since opening in 2011 has generated strong enthusiasm for the school in the local community and beyond, resulting in high demand for student places.

Air Travel & Transportation

Albert Park College, located in Melbourne's inner suburbs, is easily accessible from Melbourne Airport. A taxi or ride-share journey to the school typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic. For those preferring public transport, the SkyBus offers an express service to Southern Cross Station, from where a tram can be taken directly to Albert Park. This route usually takes around 1 to 1.5 hours in total.

Driving and Parking Information

Albert Park College has limited on-site parking. There is both free & paid public street parking in the Albert Park precinct. Please be mindful of all posted parking signs and local council regulations in the area.

Several tram routes provide convenient access to Albert Park College, with stops located within easy walking distance of the school.

This Summit featuring Google for Education is a one-day conference focusing on the use of technology to advance student learning, collaboration and productivity in the classroom. The Summit is designed for classroom teachers, school leadership and anyone interested in learning how technology can be used to enhance student engagement, teacher efficiency, and digital-age learning.

With fast-developing, generative Artifical Intelligence (AI) tools popping up everywhere, the Summit will offer sessions focusing on how you can make the most AI in education. Join our experienced featured speakers who are on hand to guide you through the process of using AI to improve your teaching and learning. Whether your are new to AI or have experience with it already, our AI sessions will help you have a better understanding of how and when to use this new and exciting tool.

This one-day event features a keynote presentation in the morning. We are excited to feature a workshop lab filled with Chromebooks that attendees can use in sessions designed with the device in mind. The Summit will be full of informative breakouts, future-focused demonstrations, and hands-on workshops led by experienced and knowledgeable professional developers, current classroom teachers and employees of Google (aka Googlers).

Yes, Deploy Learning will provide coffee and tea on arrival, plus morning tea and lunch. We will work with caterers to provide options for a variety of dietary needs. We absorb this cost so it is important to not claim a ticket unless you know you will go.

You can save your spot quickly and easily using the registration form. On the menu bar above click Register and complete the steps. You can also access the event registration using this link.

Sessions include a keynote presentation, a closing demo slam competition plus a day full of informative breakouts, cutting-edge demonstrations, and hands-on workshops led by experienced and knowledgeable professional developers.

And so much more!

We like to allow about an hour for every workshop session to immerse ourselves in learning something new and getting hands on time to explore and experiment. We aim to run 4 blocks of sessions.

As we get closer to the event you will receive confirmation about the timings and workshop sessions. You can also find timings and other information in the Schedule tab.

We do not track attendance for the workshops and there is no need to indicate which sessions you are attending. It helps if you have a plan before you arrive so you can reflect on which sessions are likely to be the most helpful for your learning and the community you support.

You should bring a fully charged laptop to get the most from the hands-on workshop sessions. This can be a Mac, PC or a Chromebook. Pretty much anything with a web browser.

At the end of the event, we will share a Google Form with everyone in attendance.  It will allow you to request a certificate and also share feedback on your experience.

We have prepared the following letter for your use in generating support from your school or district leadership to attend this Summit. Please feel free to customise the letter to help “make the case” for your attendance.

Feel free to email us at events@deploylearning.com with your questions.
